What it’s about

You’ve known for ages – and still don’t do it

Many people have read enough, written enough lists and made enough good resolutions. And still the decisive step stays undone. HANDELN starts from the assumption that this is neither about willpower nor about discipline, but about an inner programme that came about at some point with the best of intentions – and has been running quietly in the background ever since.

The book shows how you make this programme visible and change it in seven steps: not only in your head, but in a way that your body goes along with. Every chapter ends with a summary and an exercise – you can read it in one go or start exactly where you are right now.

HANDELN is volume 1 of the “Series for a Successful Life”. 83 pages, paperback, written in German.

The method

The seven steps

HANDELN combines NLP, the work on beliefs based on Albert Ellis and physical experience into a path of seven steps. NLP, in short, is a toolbox that describes how thinking, language and learned inner patterns interact – and how you recognise and change patterns that hold you back. In German, the first letters of the seven steps spell the word it is all about.

  1. Hinhören – Listening closelyNot listening to the content, but to the pattern: What happened, how does your body react to it – and in which direction are you moving without noticing?
  2. Anerkennen – AcknowledgingThe pattern isn’t fought; instead, the protection behind it is given dignity – because only when your nervous system feels safe is change possible at all.
  3. Nachfragen – Asking furtherThe invisible sentence between event and reaction becomes visible – first in language, then in the body: Where exactly do you feel it, and what does this part of you need?
  4. Dahinterliegende Absicht – The underlying intentionTwo movements at once: finding the good intention behind the pattern and honestly checking whether the old sentence is still fit for your life today.
  5. Erleben – ExperiencingThe decisive step: the new sentence doesn’t stay in your head but is anchored with posture, breath and inner sensing so that you can call it up again.
  6. Losgehen – Setting offThe first concrete step – today, not someday – and deliberately kept separate from experiencing, because inner experience and outer action are two different levels.
  7. Nachjustieren – ReadjustingNot just “What do I do differently now?” but “Who am I now?” – the new sentence isn’t only lived, it becomes part of who you are.

Not just understanding follow-through, but experiencing it.

Who it’s for

Who the book is for

HANDELN is not a book that explains to you once more why you should act. It’s for you if …

  • you’ve read enough and finally want to work on your own pattern – with exercises, not just explanations.
  • you’ve been pushing a concrete plan ahead of you for months and suspect it isn’t about discipline.
  • you want to understand why you hesitate at the decisive moment – and what this hesitation has done for you so far.

You don’t need to know which coaching you need, and you don’t have to explain your topic perfectly.
